Sometimes, making a CD feels a bit like an epic battle of wits between me and Murphy's Law. And nothing makes me feel more sheepish than announcing a release date only to retract it 2 days before said release date.
Last week, I wanted to show my family how the CD sounded so far. While I was doing that, I somehow managed to trip over the cable connecting the hard drive with all my data on it to the computer, knocking the hard drive onto the floor. Unfortunately, that damaged the hard drive to the point where it has not been possible to retrieve the data. And, even more unfortunately, that hard drive contained all the data for this album, The Suicidal Immortal, and a third one I had started writing.
A lot of the work from Gatekeepers was on my sound engineer's computer, but certain problems have come up. These problems would have been really easy to fix with the original files on the hard drive, but require more time without them. I really want this to be an amazing CD, and if that means I have to take a few extra days to do it, so be it.
The release will hopefully only be delayed a few days, a week at the most, so you can still begin pre-ordering on the 9th!
