Chilean Singer Pamo to perform on upcoming album

August 21, 2014
I am excited to announce that the Chilean singer Pamo will be performing on the Gatekeepers album, singing the role of The Mother. I received Pamo's vocal tracks earlier today, and I am really impressed with the passion and emotion she displays while performing an admittedly challenging and complex role.
All that remains to be done now for this album is to add in a few small backing vocal parts and then go to the studio to mix the two tracks Pamo appears on. Then, it will be all ready for you to check out!
In the meantime, check out Pamo's Reverbnation profile!

I owe you an explanation

August 5, 2014
I realize it seems like I announced the release of a long-awaited album, then disappeared off the face of the earth. And in a way, that is precisely what I did.
But during this off-the-face-of-the-earth time, I haven't been sitting here twiddling my thumbs and laughing maniacally about how I fooled you all into thinking I'd made a CD, believe it or not.
Shortly after I announced the release, a trusted friend of mine pointed out a fairly significant technical error. After listening to the track ...

Release postponed

March 7, 2014
Sometimes, making a CD feels a bit like an epic battle of wits between me and Murphy's Law. And nothing makes me feel more sheepish than announcing a release date only to retract it 2 days before said release date.
Last week, I wanted to show my family how the CD sounded so far. While I was doing that, I somehow managed to trip over the cable connecting the hard drive with all my data on it to the computer, knocking the hard drive onto the floor. Unfortunately, that damaged the hard drive to t...

Instrumentals all recorded for Gatekeepers!

February 9, 2014
I get to start yet another post with "I am pleased to announce..."
Or maybe completely thrilled and still not quite able to believe it's real would be a better way to put it.
If you read the title, you probably know why, but if you clicked on it, you probably wanted more details. So I'll humor you. Gladly.
Upon checking my Facebook account yesterday at evening, I came across a message delivering the long-awaited news that the final guitar part had been uploaded for me to download! I have waited ...

And now for something completely unrelated to music...

December 7, 2013
Awhile back, I decided I wanted to give voice acting a try, so I auditioned for and was cast in the web series Ian Something by Danish animator/director Jens Kragelund. I play Ulrikke, the main character's girlfriend, and also, the TV hostess.
Of course, the first thing a person does when researching a new role is learning how to pronounce your character's name. Easier said than done when your character is Danish and you don't speak a word of the language.
Then, after trying to figure out your...

Bassist Reverse Flow Performs on The Suicidal Immortal

December 6, 2013
I am pleased to announce that I have received bass tracks for a track which will also feature LadyLau, Sid Barnhoorn, and Helge Kautz.
The mysterious bassist is my college friend and former Prog-nosys bandmate Eric Goerdt, now known as Reverse Flow. I met Eric while I was a back-up singer with the Fargo-Moorhead, North Dakota band Prog-nosys. When the band's usual bassist was unable to play an important show, Eric stepped in and learned all of the band's material in about 2 weeks. And we playe...

Alien Invasion on November 15, 2013!

November 9, 2013
Ok, not really. But for those of you who've been following me on Facebook and/or Twitter and seen my random space lizard posts, next week , you'll get to see (or more like hear) what that's all about.

In 2008, I was cast as Nopileos the Teladi (in other words, space lizard) in Helge Kautz's space synth metal opera project voXager. VoXager is based on the story of Egosoft's game series X, as well as on Kautz's book series about the same characters. My character is a spunky, adventurous, highly...

The secret died with her

October 31, 2013
Growing up, I heard plenty of stories about my grandmother's mysterious grandmother, Phoebe Windsor Smith. According to the stories, she often disappeared for two or more weeks at a time, then return home and say nothing to her husband except, "Hello, George Smith!" I always wondered where she went and what she did. My imagination always concocted a variety of crazy scenarios: was she a spy for the FBI? Was she having some sort of wild affair with a traveling circus performer? Was she secretl...
