Help us finish The Raven!

March 16, 2015
The instruments have all been recorded for the Legend's Ghost version of Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven. Now, all that's left to be done is to record the narrator and send the song off to post production.
This time, you can help! You can donate to help cover production costs here. I will post more information as it becomes available.

Minneapolis-St. Paul musicians needed!

March 5, 2015
I've decided to move to Minneapolis, MN, and one thing I really want to do there is be able to play Legend's Ghost songs live. In order to do that, I need musicians. I need a drummer, bassist, keyboardist, and 1-2 guitarists.

Requirements:
  • Good technical command of your instrument
  • Be willing to play shows regularly throughout the Twin Cities area and occasionally in other parts of the US and Canada.
  • Be able to work together with the rest of the band and be a team player
Desirable, but not require...

The Stupidest Thing You've Done For Love

February 4, 2015
Legend's Ghost is about stories, and what better story than a love story?
But of course, I don't want anyone to feel left out. As someone who has spent a grand total of one Valentine's Day in a relationship, and that evening was spent volunteering at a crisis center since my partner and I weren't actually on the same continent that day, I can relate to people who get sick of hearing all the gory details of the perfectly magical evenings their roommates/cousins/siblings/co-workers/hairdressers ...

December 31, 2014
My colleague and friend Anders Thonander has just released his new album with his project Korsair! The album is called Mechopolis, and you might recognize some of the guest artists! My fellow Ayreonotes Laura ten Hoedt, Paul Glandorf, and Sebas Honing all make an appearance, and you'll also recognize Gatekeepers vocalist Oganalp Canatan and yours truly doing voice acting and vocals.
Please check out Mechopolis at https://korsairmetal.bandcamp.com and support Anders!

Gatekeepers is ready!

December 3, 2014
Very excited to announce that the Gatekeepers album is now ready and can be bought in the Legend's Ghost website store or at legendsghost.bandcamp.com/releases!
Gatekeepers is a sensual gothic symphonic metal epic where muse spirits share their stories of romantic and sexual experiences as metaphors for the creative process and a misfit artist performs a ritual to find the elusive Songweaver.

Cast:

Cherelle-Renée Childs - The Artist/The Crone
Pamo -The Mother
Louise Gracielle - The Maiden

Final tracks are in!

September 9, 2014
I just got the final tracks needed to finish Gatekeepers, so that means I just need to record a few backing vocals here and there and mix the two songs that Pamo sings on, and then, the CD will finally be available to you! You can expect it early October.
So excited!

Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore"

September 3, 2014
As some of you who follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Reverbnation may be aware, I'm recording a musical version of Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Raven." Unlike previous Legend's Ghost recordings, this one will use only real instruments and no VSTs.

I didn't want just another spooky piece with an organ. Much as I love organs, I didn't think I needed to channel my inner 1930s radio theater director and summon the spookiness with the perfectly placed but now cliché C minor organ chord. I decided...

Chilean Singer Pamo to perform on upcoming album

August 21, 2014
I am excited to announce that the Chilean singer Pamo will be performing on the Gatekeepers album, singing the role of The Mother. I received Pamo's vocal tracks earlier today, and I am really impressed with the passion and emotion she displays while performing an admittedly challenging and complex role.
All that remains to be done now for this album is to add in a few small backing vocal parts and then go to the studio to mix the two tracks Pamo appears on. Then, it will be all ready for you ...

I owe you an explanation

August 5, 2014
I realize it seems like I announced the release of a long-awaited album, then disappeared off the face of the earth. And in a way, that is precisely what I did.
But during this off-the-face-of-the-earth time, I haven't been sitting here twiddling my thumbs and laughing maniacally about how I fooled you all into thinking I'd made a CD, believe it or not.
Shortly after I announced the release, a trusted friend of mine pointed out a fairly significant technical error. After listening to the track ...
