I owe you an explanation

I realize it seems like I announced the release of a long-awaited album, then disappeared off the face of the earth. And in a way, that is precisely what I did.
But during this off-the-face-of-the-earth time, I haven't been sitting here twiddling my thumbs and laughing maniacally about how I fooled you all into thinking I'd made a CD, believe it or not.
Shortly after I announced the release, a trusted friend of mine pointed out a fairly significant technical error. After listening to the track in question, I realized he was most definitely right, and I also noticed several other things I felt weren't quite right. After nearly a decade of work, there was no way I was going to release something that wasn't done to my satisfaction.
Most of the problems would have easily been fixed in a few days of work if it hadn't been for one fairly major problem: my hard drive had been completely wiped out just 8 days before the originally announced release date. On that hard drive were the files necessary to make those changes. Because of that, one of the songs had to be re-done almost completely. Two people who were fairly crucial to that track were no longer available to record, which meant I had to find new people. One of the parts was fairly easily filled, but the other was a more specialized role, making it difficult to find the right person. After holding an audition and having to make a difficult choice between several talented people, the role has been filled, and the musician in question is preparing to record. I hope to see some files in my inbox soon, and once I do...

...I bring you....
